"Important! Remove shrimp from plastic bag before cooking!"
This printed message found on the inner packaging of Gorton's frozen cocktail shrimp is a prime example of what I hate about people.
Why do the masses need to be told this!? Is it not self-evident!!???!

Fri, June 25, 2004 - 1:27 AMMy personal favorite, is the fact that there are directions for use on boxes of toothpicks. Just in case the name of the item: "TOOTHPICK" wasn't very clearly pasted on the outside of the box... Usually pretty detailed directions, too. Ugh. -

Re: Caution! Coffee is Hot!
Fri, June 25, 2004 - 4:29 AMAnyone read a q-tip box. "Do not stick in ear" Well.. just because someone got it stuck the rest of us aren't allowed to try. They put it on the box so they can't get sued when you do it but everyone knows why you buy them.

Re: Caution! Coffee is Hot!
Sat, July 3, 2004 - 7:18 PMThere are two reasons for this:
#1 Most people are fucking stupid!!!!!
#2 If there's no warning they'll do the wrong thing and then sue you, if there is a way to get money for nothing people will find it because we live in a world where everyone wants to blame someone else for there stupidity and then profit from it!!!! -

Mon, July 5, 2004 - 2:52 AMWell yeah. Of course! But understanding the reasons doesn't mean that we have to be happy about it, much less not be completely sickened by it.

Re: Caution! Coffee is Hot!
Tue, December 5, 2006 - 8:38 AMI see the Shrimp label as just a sorry mis-print error. The original text should have read:
CAUTION: Remove shrimp from bag before cooking. Place bag over head and re-seal it closed around your neck with convenient rubber band included. Breathe deep. -

Re: Caution! Coffee is Hot!
Sat, February 10, 2007 - 8:26 AMi am letting this go due to alcohol consumption....but my friend who shall remain nameless did try to cook rice in a pan of water by leaving the rice in the plastic packet last night. o no luv, remove from packet and add to water, not just open the top and stand in water.....made me feel so much better about myself. hehe.
